Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with our Food Manufacturing client whose aim is to create food ranges that brings bespoke experience and deliver exquisite artisan bakery and food to go products to their customers with the appointment of Quality Manager.

As Quality Manager you will manage the Quality and Food Safety System its practices and implementation throughout the facilities, with primary focus being product quality and safety through operational processes whilst echoing all company values and give customers the opportunity to achieve their extraordinary results through the passion we have for our people and food.

What your typical day as Quality Manager will look like:

  • Lead the QA team, defining control plans, tasks and activities
  • Audit Team member for all 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audits on site. (Corporate, Customers, BRC)
  • Implementation, maintenance and follow up of the Quality Systems and HACCP
  • Developing SOPs, quality policies and procedures to BRC standards
  • Lead and coordinate the work of the various HACCP teams and ensure consistent format between documentation of HACCP studies
  • Monitoring incoming ingredients to ensure they are from an approved supplier.
  • Liaising with customers on the Quality Assurance requirements
  • Ensuring company is compliant with appropriate Codes of Practice
  • Encouraging all staff members to recognise the importance of good hygiene practices
  • Ensuring that all refrigeration within the production areas and transport is compliant with required standards.
  • Providing regular quality improvement information and performance reports to the management to identify quality problems and non-conformances.
  • Liaising and reporting to the Operational Technical Manager on a regular basis to ensure effective communications are developed and maintained
  • Creating, developing, and maintaining effective working relationships with customers.
  • Liaising with the Operational Technical Manager in the recruitment and selection of staff.
  • Contributing to the induction process of all new staff members and ongoing training in basis food hygiene practices.
  • Training and motivating all staff on health and safety procedures, safety procedures etc on an ongoing basis
  • Informing the Operational Technical Manager of any relevant staffing issues
  • Actively promote a healthy, clean, safe, secure and productive working environment

Your essential ingredients:

  • Proven experience in a previous role
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
