R&D Engineer

Louth

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a renowned multinational engineering group at the forefront of innovation in the heavy equipment and materials handling sector to recruit an R&D Engineer.

As an R&D Engineer you will be responsible for the design and development of new and existing machines and components within the company. You will design and develop solutions to design problems or product improvements and will work on identifying potential opportunities for component redesign which will result in contained or reduced purchase, manufacturing, assembly and/or testing costs.

Your new role as an R&D Engineer;

  • Carry out design work as required on Product Lifetime Care (PLC), Design to cost (DTC), New Product Development, Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Work Requests
  • Create detailed drawings for designs including Weld and General Assemblies
  • Create Bill of Materia data for all fabrications and assemblies designed
  • Maintain and improve the engineering drawings and documentation to a high standard

What you will need to succeed;

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Completed a work in the industry (Heavy engineering/mobile equipment preferred)
  • CAD modelling and drafting (CREO preferred)
  • Use of PDM systems
  • Design of steel structures, welded fabrications, sheet metal components
  • Design/operation of hydraulic systems
  • Cost analysis & Bills of materials
