This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to step into a senior role within a consultancy known for delivering nationally significant infrastructure, transport, environmental and placemaking projects. The position offers flexibility around location (Dublin or Cork) and working patterns, alongside strong long-term career development.

Your new role as Senior Environmental Planner
You will join a collaborative team of planners, environmental scientists, ecologists, hydrologists and engineers, contributing planning and environmental expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects.
In this senior role, you will:

  • Undertake planning and environmental appraisals of sites and lands
  • Prepare supporting documentation for feasibility studies and planning applications
  • Provide planning and environmental inputs across all stages of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated project outcomes
  • Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate

Projects span major public infrastructure, transport, greenways, tourism and place-based initiatives, offering both technical challenge and meaningful societal impact.

What you will need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A recognised, accredited degree or qualification in Planning
  • Membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI), Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), or an equivalent professional body
  • 6+ years' experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
  • Strong, demonstrable experience across EIA and SEA processes
  • In-depth knowledge of the Irish planning system, including environmental and planning legislation
  • Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consultancy setting
  • Strong IT capability, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

What's in it for you?
If successful, you can expect:

  • A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
  • Flexible working options including full-time, part-time and hybrid arrangements
  • A structured training and development programme with support toward chartership and continued professional growth
  • Exposure to high-profile, nationally significant projects across Ireland and the UK
  • A people-focused consultancy culture that genuinely invests in wellbeing, flexibility and long-term career progression
  • An active and social working environment with regular team and company-wide activities

This role will suit a senior planning professional who enjoys working on complex, multidisciplinary projects and wants to continue developing their career within a progressive, well-respected consultancy.
