  • Assisting with factory trials, validations and scale-ups.
  • Supporting reformulation projects to improve cost, quality or performance.
  • Maintaining accurate project data and documentation within internal systems.
  • Assisting with benchmarking and competitor analysis.
  • Supporting shelf-life assessments, organoleptic evaluations and microbiological validation where required.
  • Working cross-functionally to ensure smooth handover from development to production.
  • Ensuring all development work meets food safety, legislative and retailer compliance standards.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Food Science or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within food manufacturing, ideally within meat or added value products.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety legislation and retailer standards.
  • Experience supporting factory trials and product validation.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with internal teams and customers.
  • A proactive, inquisitive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with major UK retailers.
  • Exposure to workflow or NPD management systems.
  • Experience in costings and margin awareness within product development.
  • Involvement in successful product launches.

What you'll receive:

  • Salary c. £35,000.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Opportunity to work within a growing and ambitious meat manufacturer.
  • Strong exposure to cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
