Shift Manager (Food) | County Armagh

Vickerstock are proud to be recruitment partners with our Food Manufacturing client who are set on becoming one of Europe's biggest gluten free producers on the key appointment of a Shift Manager for their newly developed food manufacturing facility based in Newry.

Reporting to the Site General Manager, the Production Shift Manager will support the growth of the site and play a pivotal role in the company wide expansion.

(Shift patterns will be discussed upon application, there is opportunity for days/nights.

What your typical day as Shift Manager will look like:

  • Ensure correct and efficient set up of production lines including prestart check paperwork are completed in full.
  • Execute the production plan adhering to running order and volumes.
  • Check that product, meet company requirements and customer specification.
  • Complete quality and production documentations as required.
  • Work towards Production KPI in relation to output, waste, and cost.
  • Organize ingredients and packaging required to fulfil production orders and volume.
  • Train new employees on department specifics
  • Implement good housekeeping procedures in the workplace
  • Observe and enforce appropriate Health and Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene procedures at all times.


Your essential ingredients

  • Proven experience in a similar capacity - Production Manager, Shift Manager or aspiring Production Supervisor seeking a 'step up' - within a fast-paced Food Manufacturing environment.
  • Lead by example; comfortable coaching those who are not achieving the standards expected.
  • Working effectively with other key functions: operations, technical, hygiene teams
  • Confident and clear verbal communication skills.
  • Lead on Continuous Improvement projects
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility of all issues encountered
  • Flexible approach to working hours covering the needs of the business.
  • Initiative to drive and meet targets
