Vickerstock are delighted to be once again working with our Food Manufacturing client who are passionate about their people and whose vision is to become the best and most respected in their industry on the appointment of Site Technical Manager (Maternity Cover) for their site based in Craigavon.
Reporting to the Site Director and Head of Technical you will have full responsibility for all technical aspects of the site, demonstrating leadership skills across all site functions and ensuring that the physical site and its operation provide for food safety & quality, consistently meet Customer and legal requirements, and work towards best practice

What your typical day as Site Technical Manager will look like:
- Responsible, in conjunction with site senior team, for developing the site Technical Policy (in line with Group Standards and policies), providing input into the overall business strategy and Food Safety, Quality & Integrity goals and objectives (FSQI Compliance and Hygiene metrics).
- Ensuring the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a HACCP based quality system, such that, as a minimum, required approvals (typically BRC and customer standards) are achieved and food quality/safety/integrity/legality standards are consistently met.
- Auditing of the factory environment and activities to enable full assessment of standards being achieved and any weaknesses to be identified and ensuring the site management team are continuously improving upon standards.
- Management and developing succession plans for the technical team and specific members of the team (as per organisational structure above), to include recruitment and selection, training (including technical academy, competency framework) and development, performance monitoring, counselling and disciplining.
- Working closely with the Product Innovation and Development Manager and Operational team to firstly agree and then jointly manage the Site Product Innovation and Development Technologist's objectives/ KPIs
Your essential ingredients:
- 3rd Level qualification in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience successful managing people
- Quality Management experience
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of BRC Standards, HACCP, Food Legislation and codes of practice for major UK retailers
