As the successful Assistant Food Technologist, you will assist with new product developments and innovations, redevelopment and transfer of products from concept through factory trial to launch, meeting all of the requirements of internal and external targets, in required timescales.

What your typical day as Assistant Food Technologist will look like:
Assist management of the cost of launching a product (eg) micro, nutritional, sampling & trials, including ingredients.
Assist Product Innovation and Development Managers/Technologists to efficiently deliver product innovation and development projects.
Regular communication to a consistently high standard with Managers/Technologists is essential in all aspects of kitchen, factory and paperwork.
Completion of kitchen concept work in an organised fashion and the relevant paperwork i.e. recipe progression sheets filled in and logged.
Ordering of raw materials as required for kitchen work and as directed by Managers for factory trials.
Raising sample numbers and completing relevant documentation; ensuring samples are produced to the required specification; labelling samples with description and use by; enclosing cooking instructions with all samples; and ensuring any additional information is enclosed as required.
Ability to independently run line trials in conjunction with Operations, as agreed with Manager.
Collaborating effectively with other key functions (such as Commercial, Operations, Group Technical, Process, Packaging, Site technical etc) to deliver trials/launches.
Actively involved with the implementation and use of the new computer based.
Review current ways of working and propose and implement new ways of working to the Category product innovation and development manager, evaluating impact from both internal and external customer perspectives with a view to continuously improving the quality and deliverance of the output.
Working closely with team to agree objectives and create work plans to deliver Product Development projects.
Monitor and control any negative environmental impact arising from the processes within area of responsibility; ensuring that all direct reports and colleagues are briefed and clear in regard to their responsibilities as outlined in the Company Management System Manual.
Your essential ingredients:

Track record of delivering and completing tasks successfully and on time.
Full driving licence.
Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't):
Project management skills
Sound technical knowledge.
Demonstrated extensive practical factory or product development experience
