Job description

Civil 3D Technician | Craigavon

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a specialist engineering consultancy to recruit a Civil 3D Technician to join their growing digital engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician with strong Civil 3D modelling capability to work on technically interesting infrastructure projects. The initial assignment will focus on the modelling and coordination of temporary access and track arrangements for a major overhead line infrastructure project, supporting construction planning and delivery.

The role sits within a forward-thinking engineering environment where digital modelling, constructability, and practical delivery are central to the design process.

Your new role as Civil 3D Technician
As Civil 3D Technician, you will play a key role in producing accurate models and technical outputs that support the planning and delivery of civil engineering works.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing Civil 3D models and drawings to support infrastructure and construction planning projects.
  • Modelling temporary track access routes, working platforms, and construction logistics layouts for overhead line and infrastructure works.
  • Working closely with engineers and project teams to translate design intent into coordinated technical models.
  • Producing plans, profiles, sections, and technical drawings from Civil 3D models.
  • Supporting the development of digital workflows for modelling construction methodology and temporary works.
  • Coordinating with other design disciplines and integrating survey or BIM data where required.
  • Assisting with model updates and revisions as projects progress through design and delivery stages.

What you'll need to succeed as Civil 3D Technician
To be considered for this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Strong experience using Autodesk Civil 3D within a civil engineering environment.
  • Experience producing infrastructure or earthworks models, including alignments, surfaces, and corridors.
  • An understanding of construction methodology, temporary works, or site access design would be beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical information.
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured approach to model management.
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • An interest in applying digital modelling to real-world construction challenges.

What's in it for you?
In return, you'll receive a competitive package and the opportunity to work on technically engaging infrastructure projects, including:

  • Competitive salary dependent on experience.
  • The opportunity to work on major infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Exposure to innovative digital engineering and modelling techniques.
  • A supportive technical environment with opportunities to develop specialist skills.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing engineering consultancy.
  • Flexible working arrangements where project requirements allow.
