Job description

Based at Prestwick in Ayrshire, our client manufactures precision components for a global customer base within various industries. Offering a turnkey solution with full traceability throughout, our customers' components are finish machined, managed, and controlled under trusted guidance within purpose-built facilities. With the ability to turn to tight tolerances and a good understanding of geometric symbols, the ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, extracting the correct data to meet customer demands.

Hours of work (37 hours per week)

  • Early Shift: Monday to Thursday 6am - 2pm (30 minute /15 minute Both breaks paid), Friday 6am - 11am
  • Back Shift: Monday to Thursday 2pm - 10pm (30 minute /15 minute Both breaks paid), Friday 11am - 4pm
  • Shifts can be rotating, or permanent early or back shift

  • Time-served Turner or Time-served Miller with recent CNC experience
  • Experience of programming and operating CNC Turning or Milling machines
  • Knowledge of Fanuc programming language
  • Self-motivated with an eye for detail and effective communication skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running and enjoy working within a small skilled team
  • Customer Service experience is essential, along with excellent people skills
  • Live within a commutable distance and have the right to work in the UK

What will your role as a CNC Turner or a CNC Miller look like?

  • Operating manual and CNC turning machinery or CNC milling machinery to conduct internal and external turning or milling of components to customer drawings
  • Use of inspection equipment to ensure adherence to all sizes, tolerances, and surface finishes
