Vickerstock are proud to be working alongside our highly respected Food Manufacturing client currently at the forefront of their market in the appointment of Food Safety & Quality Co-Ordinator for their impressive Craigavon facility.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will assist in all technical operations, ensuring the safety, quality and integrity of food produced and packed on site.

What your typical day as Food Safety & Quality Co-ordinator will look like:

  • Support in the review, development and implementation of Quality Management System procedures and policies, overseeing product quality and product process controls. Building effective working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Review and complete gap analysis against customer Codes of Practice and 3rd Party Standards.
  • Manage Supplier approval.
  • Ownership of the internal audit schedule, review, and update on an annual basis or as and when required. Completion on internal audit and traceability exercise. Trending and sharing results for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with customer visits, presentations, and trending of KPI information.
  • Attend level 2 Daily Lean board to represent Technical.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality and consistency of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
  • Complete label and customer finished product specifications as required.
  • Action customer requests as required.
  • Assist in artwork approval process.
  • Lead and develop technical training including Allergen control, pest awareness, metal detection, Food safety, HACCP, job specific training and quality paperwork.
  • Take ownership of the following areas during technical audits and visits - Allergen Management, Supplier Approval, Traceability, TACCP and Finished Product Specifications.
  • Management of Site Risk assessments
  • Assist with root cause analysis investigations for complaints and internal non-conformances.
  • To trend and investigate customer complaints and internal non-compliance, report findings to management / customers and put in place continuous improvement plans to drive improvement and meet customer targets.
  • Assist in production trials for new and existing products, providing technical product information.
  • Deputise for the Technical manager in periods of absence.
  • Train and coach junior members of the technical and quality team
  • Liaise with and continually develop relationships with management, production staff, suppliers and customers on a regular basis

Your essential ingredients:

  • 2 years+ experience in Food Manufacturing/FMCG industry
  • 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Level 3 HACCP or above
  • Experience conducting internal audits.
  • Knowledge and experience working to auditing body standards i.e., BRC V9 including Gap Analysis
  • Knowledgeable on EU & UK food legislation
