Our client is an established local successful heavy metal engineering company who is part of a much larger international group that currently have investment and development plans with the view of expanding and increasing output to 200% by the end of next year. The company offer the full 360 from concept, design for manufacture, right through making the products and commissioning them on clients site. This Head of Design Engineering position is a strategic leadership one that is over the Design Manager and team, as well as a R&D Manager and their small team. The role is strategically looking at the current status quo, then planning and actioning to take the company through new group processes / systems, to where they want to be; with their short, medium and long term objectives.

Essential criteria for this role of Head of Design Engineering:

• A minimum of 4 years' experience people management / people directing experience with Mechanical Design Engineering or Project Design teams
• A minimum of 10 years related engineering experience, ideally within a heavier metal industry - mainly from a Design / Development perspective
• A strategic approach and the ability to present such at a senior level
• A relevant 3rd level qualification in an engineering related subject
• Strong communication and people skills
