Vickerstock are recruiting for a Head of Engineering to join a food manufacturing company in Armagh. This is a key role within the business, leading the engineering department and ensuring equipment, processes, and production lines run safely and reliably. You'll help shape the site's long-term engineering direction while supporting day-to-day operations and encouraging a culture of improvement across the team. It's a great opportunity for someone with strong leadership experience who wants to make a real impact in a growing, forward-thinking food company.

Your Responsibilities as the Head of Engineering

• Identifying opportunities to incorporate new and advanced technologies with a focus on cost reduction and process improvement.
• Creating, Improving and updating automations.
• Communicating and motivate all staff through effective supervision including training, counselling and disciplining subordinates.
• Providing appropriate input into the performance evaluation system (deciding promotions, wage increases and terminations of employment)
• Ensuring the company is able to operate safely and efficiently on a 24 hour basis with regard to overall productivity, profitability and cost effectiveness at all locations.
• Ensuring proper management of overall budget and achievement of cost/budget targets; monitor maintenance cost including labour costs, parts costs, contract maintenance costs etc.
• Assisting and undertake project management responsibilities by the Managing Director and Management on all active projects affecting the company. These could include Technical, Energy, Management, Capital Spend and Infrastructural Projects etc.
• Overseeing current and future projects.
• Driving a preventative maintenance programme for all facilities, plant and equipment that can support a standard of operations consistent with all certifications desired or achieved by the company;

As the Head of Engineering, ideally you will have;

• Degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Electrical.
• Experience within a FMCG Environment (Food, Medical, Pharma)
• Previous experience as a multi-site facilities engineering
• Previous Leadership and Managing skills
