Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a multi-faceted firm on the appointment of a Health & Safety Coordinator.
As the Health & Safety Coordinator, you will support the business in improving Health & Safety performance, drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure legislative compliance.
In your new role:
- Oversee and verify compliance with Health & Safety regulations across all departments
- Carry out routine site inspections and audits
- Prepare and regularly review risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures
- Attend monthly meetings and present relevant Health & Safety data
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; compile reports and suggest corrective actions
- Ensure all health and safety documentation is up to date, including policies, procedures, and audit records
- Deliver Health & Safety training and induction sessions to staff and contractors
- Act as the main point of contact and liaise with external Health & Safety authorities to ensure legal compliance
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents and produce statistics for management
- Support the development and implementation of emergency procedures and evacuation plans
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practice
What you will need to succeed:
- Experience within a similar H&S role
- Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH)
- Understanding of HSE legislation and regulations
- Experience with RAMS, auditing, reporting
- Good communication skills
- IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
- Full clean driving license
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
- IOSH Membership
- Additional H&S certifications
- Experience within the manufacturing sector
