Hours of work: 8-5 Mon to Thur and 8-3.30 Fri - Although flexibility on start and finish times is available.

Location: Position can be based either from the company's offices outside Dungannon or from their Belfast offices. The role commonly will require 2-3 days travel to mainly local NI / Ireland sites, as well as to some UK sites (For mainland UK sites it will usually be same day return - this is estimated at just once a fortnight)

The Role of HSEQ Manager

Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will look after everything Health and Safety across multiple locations and all construction sites. 60% of this role is Health and Safety orientated, whereas 20% is Environmental focused and the last 20% is Quality focused (Quality is more systems/paperwork compliance as the day-to-day quality is run at site level)

65% of sites tend to be more locally based in Ireland, with 35% being more mainland UK focused (Mainland UK sites require just one visit/audit a month as the company supply in at tier 1 level)

This role is a hands on, independent position however as things continue to expand across the company, a more junior second person or external auditor (To help cover mainland UK) will likely be considered in the future - the company currently operate around 20 live sites at a time

As an overview, this position is to deliver the HSEQ strategy and drive a culture of continuous improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring legislative compliance together with adherence of the IMS systems to ISO standards 18001, 14001, 9001 and 45001.

Your Responsibilities as HSEQ Manager

  • Develop a strong working relationship with all levels of employees and promote a culture of engagement, understand and compliance for all HSEQ policies and Procedures.
  • Monitor, review, improve and amend the Integrated Management System to ensure continual improvement and compliance.
  • Manage the completion of ISO9001 / ISO14001 / ISO18001 / ISO45001 internal audits and providing effective solutions to support compliance regarding all external audits.
  • Perform site visits to ensure all necessary safety equipment/ documentation is available, perform or arrange accident reporting, recording and investigation as required.
  • Support the implementation, design and development of risk management process, including, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessment and fire Risk Assessment.
  • Provide effective solutions for all company Health and Safety and compliance inductions.
  • Provide effective internal training and coaching to operational teams in specific subject matters, such as - Contractor Management, Incident Investigation, Risk Assessment and COSHH regulations.

What you need to Succeed as HSEQ Manager

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Health, Safety and Environmental management within a similar Construction / M&E Environment
  • NEBOSH general certification
  • Experience of producing internal audits to comply with 9001, 14001 and 18001.
