Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing food manufacturing business based in Portadown to recruit a Junior Production Planner. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some exposure to production, supply chain, or planning to develop their skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role offers hands-on experience supporting production planning across multiple manufacturing lines, with the opportunity to build a long-term career within supply chain and operations.

Your day to day

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Junior Production Planner will support the planning team in ensuring production runs smoothly and customer demand is met efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of daily and weekly production plans

  • Assisting with converting sales orders and forecasts into production schedules

  • Liaising with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to help ensure plans are delivered

  • Monitoring raw material and packaging availability and highlighting potential shortages

  • Updating production schedules to reflect changes in demand, downtime, or labour availability

  • Ensuring production plans follow food safety and quality requirements

  • Helping track key performance indicators such as OTIF, waste, and schedule adherence

  • Maintaining planning data within ERP/MRP systems

  • Supporting the scheduling of new product development (NPD) and sample runs

  • Communicating updated production plans to relevant teams

Your essential ingredients

  • Some experience in production, supply chain, scheduling, or planning (manufacturing or food industry desirable)

  • A good understanding of manufacturing or production environments

  • Strong Excel and IT skills; experience with ERP/MRP systems is advantageous

  • Strong organisation and attention to detail

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams

  • Keen to learn and develop within production planning
