Key Account Manager

Location: Belfast (occasional ROI & GB travel)
Salary: circa £40k


Vickerstock are working with a highly regarded FMCG business seeking to appoint an ambitious and commercially focused Key Account Manager to drive account growth and manage key retailer relationships. This is a pivotal role within a close‑knit team, reporting to the Managing Director/Commercial Director.

Ideally the successful applicant should have previous experience in the FMCG market in Ireland within a dynamic sales environment. The individual should have a proven track record of success in a similar role dealing with key accounts at a head office level.

Your day to day

  • Deliver agreed sales targets across key customer accounts while protecting margin
  • Manage and grow relationships with key retail, wholesale, and independent accounts
  • Regularly visit trade customers; 1-2 days per week in-store
  • Lead customer meetings, business reviews, and promotional planning
  • Maintain accurate pricing files and ensure promotions are planned and costed
  • Identify opportunities to grow market share via data-led category insights
  • Support the development of company-owned and principal brands in emerging categories
  • Liaise with Trade Marketing and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth delivery of plans
  • Report weekly/monthly performance to the Commercial Director
  • Manage promotional forecasts and stock levels to avoid write-offs
  • Ensure effective credit control and departmental cost management
  • Champion a culture of compliance, safety, and collaborative working
  • Resolve customer issues in coordination with internal support functions

Your essentials ingredients

  • 3+ years in FMCG/key account management
  • Strong track record in hitting sales targets and margin goals
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Commercial acumen with data‑driven approach
  • Driven, organised, resilient with ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Full UK driver's licence; flexibility to travel across NI/ROI/GB
  • Degree preferred
