Maintenance Engineer

Salary: 60,000 euros
Schedule: Monday - Friday (3 shift Rotation - Days / Afternoons / Nights)
Location: IJmuiden
Type: Full time

Role Overview
In this role, you'll be at the heart of the operation - keeping production and utilities running smoothly day in, day out. You'll take ownership of maintenance tasks across mechanical, electrical, and control systems, combining technical skill with a proactive approach to problem-solving and improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Diagnose and repair equipment faults to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.

  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Support complex repairs and collaborate with technical specialists or external contractors.

  • Propose and implement improvements to maintenance processes and schedules.

  • Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and maintenance activities.

  • Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards (GMP, HACCP).

  • Provide technical guidance to production teams during troubleshooting or maintenance tasks.



Your Profile


  • Qualified technician with experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance (E&I experience an advantage).

  • Skilled in fault finding, diagnostics, and problem-solving under pressure.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team within a shift-based structure.

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Fluent in English (Dutch is an advantage).
