Manufacturing Engineer

Cork

Monday - Friday

€45k - €55k

Vickerstock are currently working exclusively with one of Ireland's leading employers to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer for their site in Cork.

This is a full-time permanent role within their Lean Division, you will be responsible for leading their team to support the internal customers in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible, to better perform the key processes and to increase focus on innovation through NPPD, product safety and product quality.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for;

  • Collaborate with Production Area Managers, Production Line Supervisors, Quality team, Supply Chain team and Design engineering. Schedule team projects and timelines and drive the teams to meet requirements.
  • Support HSE to ensure that Risk Assessment and process documentation is in place and documented for the entire operation.
  • Assume team ownership for the product in the teams portfolio.
  • Work together with the engineering systems, standards and conformance groups to ensure that the requirements of the product platform are met, with EN 1009 being a constant guide.
  • Identify and implement cost effective design and technology alternatives to resolve build issues, ensuring appropriate maintenance and ongoing improvements to current models.
  • Identify, manage and implement Continuous Improvement projects across the operation.
  • Ensure use of measurable standards and performance for product safety, delivery, quality, cost.
  • Develop and Maintain production information and performance KPI's across site Team Boards.
  • Mentor, coach and develop Manufacturing Engineering talent.
  • Drive standardization of components, product builds and processes across all product groups where possible.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for both existing and new processes.
  • Be flexible in terms of hours worked and travel on short notice when and where is necessary.
  • Review build schedules from Production Control to ensure manufacturing criteria is in place and up to date for production builds.

As a Manufacturing Engineer ideally you will have;

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Manufacturing and/or Engineering, you will be able to demonstrate effective leadership, in both strategic and tactical decision making.
  • Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally CREO and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Good technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a track record of providing unique or different solutions when problem solving.
  • Good English communication skill, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Good Presentation and interpersonal skills.
