Job description

Vickerstock are partnering with our Food Manufacturing/FMCG client with the appointment of Operations Manager to join their Print Production facility based in Newry.

As the successful Business Unit Manager you will be expected to inspire, lead, and coordinate the Operational functions of the Print Production site ensuring an efficient and seamless working environment where deadlines and objectives are consistently met or exceeded.

Your day to day as the successful Operations Manager:

  • Manage the full production facility with a team of up to 15
  • Set day to day KPI's for each department to ensure all business requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Deliver and maintain 3rd party accreditation and legislative requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a robust auditing programme that meets those requirements, ensuring that all departments keep meaningful records which are up to date.
  • Ensure the business unit is always audit ready.
  • Ensure the Quality Management System is executed in daily operations.
  • Be the manufacturing strategy champion, responsible for managing & improving production and logistics network capacity.
  • Execute the NPD launch plan and ensure that 100% of launch dates are met on time and facilitating a harmonious working culture between the Operations, Technical and NPD departments.
  • Day to day financial accountability
  • Ensure best in industry standards and customer satisfaction though day to day operations.
  • Setting of day-to-day KPI's, whilst establishing effective monitoring systems and ensuring corrective action is taken if are targets not met.
  • Execute company strategy driving a programme of continuous improvement in line with GM targets.
  • Implement and Oversee training calendar for all operational departments with succession plans.
  • Coach & Develop our Site Leadership Team
  • Ensure all operational staff are being effectively managed and are engaged.
  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to QMS.
  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to the HS&E plan.


Your Essential Ingredients:

  • A strong background in Manufacturing
  • Experience/knowledge in Print Production would be ideal.
  • Can plan, organise, schedule and budget in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Able to maintain stable performance whilst under heavy pressure or stress.
  • Demonstrate tenacity and willingness to go the distance to get the job done.
