Procurement Officer| Cookstown

Vickerstock are working on behalf of an award-winning company to recruit for a Procurement Officer to join their team for a maternity cover. The role is based in Cookstown.

The Procurement Officer will be accountable for ensuring that the required numbers of livestock are delivered to the site to meet operational requirements.

The role holder will also be responsible for ensuring that systems are maintained and developed to allow accurate and timely payments to be made to suppliers.

Your new role as a Procurement Officer

• Liaising with clients to organise deliveries of livestock to the site
• Production of delivery schedules in line with site operational requirements
• Ensuring quality assurance standards meet company requirements
• Liaising with operations/ technical department as required
• Ensuring accurate and timely payments are made to suppliers using SAP systems
• Effectively dealing with supplier queries

What you will need to succeed as a Procurement Officer

• Considerable experience of managing/ supervising administration/ scheduling activities in a very fast paced, pressurised FMCG environment
• Previous experience of dealing with livestock scheduling would be advantageous
• Strong track record of achievement
• Excellent communicator and team motivator, able to influence and drive performance with a professional, enthusiastic attitude
• Strong IT skills
• Excellent telephone manner
• Ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders
• Determination and resilience to cope with change and to manage difficult circumstances proactively and professionally and make confident considered decisions
