Production Manager | Newry
Vickerstock are working alongside or Food Manufacturing Client - who are experiencing unrivalled growth - with the appointment of a Production Manager to join their growing Newry based facility.

Reporting to Head of Production, the Production Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facilities, ensuring all production duties and associated activities are completed in accordance with the build plan.

You will exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising production levels and driving operational excellence through-out.

What we have to offer:

  • Salary £38-43k depending on experience
  • Hours: Daytime: Sunday - Thursday/Monday to Friday 6-3, 7-4 or 8-5

Your day to day as Production Manager

General

  • This is an extremely fast paced position within a temperature-controlled environment.
  • You will interact with a variety of company departments.
  • Your working hours can be irregular and will be influenced by problems needing instant action.


People Management

  • You will haveproactive, hands-on approach to managing your team your team - making sure food hygiene rules are adhered to and ensuring the daily production is delivered.
  • You will provide training, coaching and ongoing development of your production team
  • You will encourage a collaborative work culture among your team based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation


Health and Safety

  • You will foster a health and safety-first policy on the production floor
  • You will ensure all PPE is worn in designated areas


Your essential ingredients:

  • Proven experience Supervising/Managing a team preferably in a fast-paced, food manufacturing environment
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Good planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer focused mindset
  • Flexible approach to work to meet the needs of the business and the role
  • Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software, e-mail and the internet
