Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a global, heavy engineering firm based in Derry/Londonderry on the appointment of a Production Scheduler.

In your new role:

  • Create Production Schedules to ensure customer requirements are fully met
  • Frequentyl liaise with the Sales team to improve forecast accuracy
  • Responsible for producing a monthly production plan in line with plant capacity and sales forecas
  • Work closely with the operations department to ensure there is adequate capacity available to meet short term S&OP demand and longer term strategic plan
  • Improve forecasting tools and procedures through application of innovative ideas and projects
  • Assist in the resolution of MRP and planning discrepancies
  • Analyse and identify risks associated with the options built into the master production plan, including manufacturing lead times
  • Monitor daily production outputs and ensures high levels of schedule adherence are achievable and realistic
  • Minimise costs and inventory to ensure company objectives are achieved
  • Ensure availability of all raw material and components
  • Ensures system data is accurate through regular maintenance of Bills of Material, Production routings, and system parameters

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2 years production planning/scheduling experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in use of MRP/ERP systems
  • Lean manufacturing experience
