The role itself:
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will lead and manage a production team to achieve daily and weekly targets. You will be responsible for maintaining quality, safety, and performance standards, while fostering a positive team culture.
- Lead, coach, and motivate your team to meet daily KPIs for output, quality, and efficiency
- Manage shift operations, including attendance, breaks, overtime, and effective handovers.
- Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and handle disciplinary matters up to verbal warnings.
- Support daily production planning and ensure accurate completion of shift documentation.
- Monitor and control raw material usage to minimise waste and maintain stock accuracy.
- Identify and escalate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure audit readiness.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and support health & safety and quality audits.
- Ensure equipment is operational, report faults, and assist with planned maintenance activities.
Your essential ingredients:
- Previous supervisory experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety protocols.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical understanding to assist with minor troubleshooting.
- Clear, confident communicator who thrives on accountability.
