Job description
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a growing and innovative engineering business on the appointment of a Procurement & Sourcing Specialist on a full-time permanent basis.
As the Procurement & Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for international sourcing of components from electrical, mechanical, and machinery part suppliers. You will develop a strong core supplier base, sourcing from all parts of the world. This is a vital area of the business, so you will need to have a background in a strategic procurement role!

In your new role:
- Source and procure mechanical, electrical, and industrial components, tools, machinery, and services to support engineering and maintenance projects.
- Review technical specifications and work with engineering teams to ensure accurate material selection and ordering.
- Raise and track purchase orders, monitor lead times, and ensure on-time delivery to project sites.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships in the UK and US; assess supplier capabilities and manage procurement contracts.
- Process purchase orders and approve supplier invoices with correct financial coding for management reporting.
- Source, renew, and administer insurance policies for UK and US operations, ensuring adequate coverage and regulatory compliance.
- Support the SHEQ Manager in maintaining ISO-compliant Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Coordinate and support ISO audits, liaising with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance and readiness.
- Manage equipment hire for projects, ensuring early planning to prevent delays.
- Handle customs declarations, import processes, and commodity codes for US operations.
- Support the Business Development team with bid and tender preparation, including obtaining equipment hire quotations.
What you will need to succeed:
- 2 years' recent experience in a strategic procurement position
- Experience of international sourcing
- Experience in the engineering and/or machinery manufacturing industries
