Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a specialist bespoke joinery and fitout firm on the appointment of an experienced Purchasing Manager.

Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will oversee and manage the procurement needs of the business, liaising with the Commercial team to ensure projects are within agreed budgets and delivered to strict deadlines.

In your new role:

  • You will be responsible for co-ordinating and implementing the company's procurement strategy & policies alongside managing the overall purchasing function
  • You will lead and develop a high performing procurement and logistics team
  • Oversee and process purchase requisitions in line with internal process
  • Ensure that procurement schedule for upcoming and ongoing projects are managed in line with budget to achieve value for money and excellence of standard
  • Oversee the tracking consignments to assist with managing delivery times
  • Ensure that links are maintained between contract documents for procurement packages to achieve the best strategic outcome for the project delivery
  • Build strong working relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Maintain and develop PSL for key materials with identification of second/third sources as appropriate
  • Management of supplier performance and compliance with agreed standards
  • Performance Development & management of team
  • Oversee the process of documentation on our internal electronic document management system
  • ·Liaise closely with Finance Team

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 5 years procurement experience preferably in a similar industry
  • 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline preferable
  • Highly computer literate and proficient in all Microsoft Office packages
