Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with our client, a food packaging manufacturer on the appointment of a focused, innovative, and flexible Quality Assurance Lead based in Belfast. They aim to provide safe and responsible packaging, supply, inventory, and logistics management for some of the world's largest brand owners.

As Quality Assurance Lead you will report to Quality Manager and will ensure the highest standards of quality assurance as required by the company and their customers.

What your typical day as Quality Assurance Lead will look like:

  • Provide Technical support for the investigation and resolution of customer complaints to identify root causes, corrective actions and prevent recurrence of any issues.
  • Reporting back to customers on any quality issues/complaints reported
  • Analysis of customer complaints to identify trends and drive improvement.
  • Review systems and processes on site with an aim to continually improving product quality, ways of working and the quality management system.
  • Report on and drive performance against quality KPI's and communicate performance to the wider factory team.
  • Carry out internal audits and report all findings, implementing corrective actions with an aim to making improvements.
  • Managing customer specific requirements such as traceability challenges and case pack audits
  • Set up of new products to include codes, specifications, labels, and barcodes.
  • Work in partnership with all departments to ensure the company complies with customer specifications and requirements.
  • Adhere to the company standards, rules, and procedures with regard to personal hygiene, health & safety and housekeeping.
  • Initiate and maintain presentations.
  • Initiate and maintain reports and spreadsheets.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Maths and English Grade C or higher (or equivalent)
  • Good knowledge of GMP and standards required in the manufacturing environment.
  • Internal Auditing experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!):

  • Quality Assurance experience gained in the FMCG or print/packaging industry
  • Food Hygiene Training
  • HACCP qualification
  • Training in VACCP and TACCP
