Job description

Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with our client dedicated to producing and providing top quality products to their customers on the appointment of Quality Assurance Manager for their Belfast based Mill.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the QA Supervisor will act as part of the senior team with full day to day responsibility for the Food Safety and Quality Management systems working closely with the Production, Maintenance, Hygiene and H&S departments.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Management of Food Safety and Quality processes and procedures.
  • Lead QA team in producing certificate of analysis daily.
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of a HACCP based quality management system.
  • Ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, food safety, legal compliance, and customer requirements of all products.
  • Leading and supporting third party audits.
  • Liaising with customers, statutory bodies and external parties during Audits and Visits.
  • Responsibility for internal audit, developing audit schedules based on risk, creating, and maintaining audit templates, conduct audits and/or ensure that audits are conducted as specified.
  • Ensure strict food safety, GMP and hygiene standards are implemented, maintained, and adhered to.
  • Build a culture which drives food safety throughout the site.
  • Deliver training and support to the operations and wider site staff in relation to food safety and quality.
  • Develop site Food Safety and Quality strategies and annual operating plans.
  • Monitor and manage complaints.
  • Keep up to date with legislative changes and technical developments.
  • Problem solving including root cause analysis, implementation of corrective action and control of non-conforming products.
  • Monitor pests and liaise with pest control contractor and hygiene supervisor to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Work with health and safety officer to ensure standards are met across the company.


What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience working in food safety and quality team.
  • Degree of third level equivalent in a relative field
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality standards including HACCP
