Job description
Vickerstock are delighted to be recruitment partners with our client who are specialists in supplying free from products to millions of customers around the globe on the appointment of Quality Manager for their newly developed food manufacturing facility based in South Armagh.
Reporting to the Head of Technical, the successful Quality Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the high standards of our client's products. You will be responsible for overseeing quality control processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
What your typical day will look like?
- Manage and support Quality Control staff, providing direction and guidance when required.
- Implement good manufacturing practices and support a strong food safety culture, leading by example.
- Assist the Head of Technical during customer and regulatory audits and site visits.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and maintenance of the Quality Management System, ensuring audit readiness
- Support the development and implementation of paperless systems, including digital traceability solutions.
- Manage supplier approval processes and maintain the approved supplier matrix.
- Conduct internal audits of the Quality Management System, including GMP, hygiene, and maintenance audits.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene procedures, and enforce these standards across the site.
- Support the New Product Development process by attending factory trials and recording trial data.
What you will need to succeed:
- Degree in food technology/ science or similar discipline or two years' experience in a similar role.
- Ability to lead by example and be comfortable coaching those who are not achieving the standards expected.
- Actively enjoys taking on new challenges and being creative.
- Takes ownership and responsibility of all issues and tasks they encounter.
- Motivated to do all tasks to the highest standards with an ability to inspire others to do the same.
- Good working knowledge of word and excel are essential.
- Flexible approach to working hours covering the needs of the business.
- To undertake other appropriate duties as deemed necessary within the scope of the role.
