At Vickerstock, we are delighted to be working with one of Northern Ireland's leading main contractors to recruit for the position of Senior Project Manager. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. With offices across the UK and Ireland, this local success story is now one of the UK's largest contractors and continuing to create further opportunities for their team. You will become a valued member of their team, working on projects throughout Bristol and surrounding areas. The first project you will be working on is the construction of a new plasterboard production and distribution facility in Bristol with a project value of £60 million.

Your new role as Senior Project Manager

As Senior Project Manager, you are accountable for the entire project scope, the project team and resources, the project budget, and the successful delivery of the project. You will be responsible for leading the subcontractor process and ensuring that they are appointed on time, suitably experienced and competent in full compliance with the CDM regulations. In this role, you will take full ownership of the construction programme and ensure that it is regularly monitored and updated. You will attend, chair and lead meetings including; project start-up meetings, subcontractor start-up meetings, progress and coordination meetings, and arrange and chair weekly project review meetings with your team. On Design and Build projects, you will fulfil the role of Design Manager, ensuring the schedule of design function responsibilities is compiled and agreed. As site safety is of utmost importance, it is your responsibility to arrange daily briefing/coordination meetings with subcontractors.

What you will need to succeed as Senior Project Manager

  • Good construction experience working on projects of a similar value;
  • Experience working on build and design projects;
  • Experience in managing subcontractors in line with health and safety and environmental legislation (First Aid at Work)
  • A construction related degree
