Vickerstock Recruitment are delighted to be working with one of the UK's Tier 1 contractors to recruit for the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. With offices across the UK, this local success story is now one of the UK's largest main contractors and continues to go from strength to strength. This particular role will be based in Inverness; however, you may be required to travel to projects throughout Scotland.

Your new role as Senior Quantity Surveyor

In this role, you will become a valued member of an impressive team controlling all commercial aspects of projects. You will provide commercial support and advice to the team, aiding decision making, maintaining commercial information, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will monitor contract progress, control costs against budget, prepare interim valuations and final accounts and liaise customers and third parties on commercial matters. You will evaluate potential implications for dispute resolution and develop as appropriate quality, health and safety, welfare, and risks in accordance with management systems. What you will need to succeed as Senior Quantity Surveyor (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't)

  • Experience working at Senior Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor level;

  • A relevant degree qualification;

  • Good knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC Forms of Contract;

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;

  • Good numerical, IT and problem-solving skills;

  • Ability to travel frequently to Site, as and when required
