Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading construction and engineering business on the appointment of a SHEQ Manager.

This hands-on role will see you take ownership of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality compliance across multiple projects in both NI and ROI. Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for implementing robust SHEQ systems, driving a positive safety culture, and ensuring compliance with UK and Irish legislation.

In your new role:

  • Manage and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Develop, review and update SHEQ policies and procedures in line with legislation and industry best practice
  • Create project-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Carry out regular site visits to monitor safety performance and ensure compliance
  • Lead risk evaluations and implement preventive measures
  • Coordinate with HR to deliver safety inductions and training for employees and contractors
  • Inspect plant, equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Compile quality reports, statistical reviews and other relevant documentation
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Support pre-qualification and tender submissions by completing H&S questionnaires
  • Promote a proactive, collaborative safety culture across all levels of the business

What you will need to succeed:

  • Relevant experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or related sectors
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Experience auditing against ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
  • Strong working knowledge of safety regulations in the UK and Ireland
  • IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across NI and ROI

Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):

  • Level 6 qualification in Occupational Safety and Health
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • ISO Internal Auditor certification
  • Experience within M&E construction projects
