Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a design and manufacturing firm based in Lisburn on the appointment of a Supply Chain Manager.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will have full responsibility for the day to day running of the Purchasing and Logistics teams

In your new role:

  • Ensure continuous and measurable improvements are implemented in relation to stock management and cost control
  • Provide strong leadership to the Purchasing and Logistics team by providing direction and mentoring to ensure a focused and highly efficient team
  • In conjunction with the Supply Chain Director, set measurable Objectives and KPI's, work standards and expectations, to be monitored and communicated regularly, and action where appropriate
  • Forecast likely levels of demand for products to meet the business needs and keep constant check on stock levels to maximise business efficiency
  • Assess new products and stock and apply to launch dates and manage the impact of stock on cash flow
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of value, delivery schedules and quality
  • Identify and source potential suppliers, whilst developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power to assess, manage and mitigate risk
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries, and liaise with internal departments to ensure communication to customers
  • Work closely with freight forwarders to ensure market rates are achieved for freight forwarders
  • Have a working knowledge of inbound logistics including import clearance, TSS and CDS
  • Ensure the provision of complete, accurate, timely and reliable Supply Chain information to the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management
  • Travel to Decora's suppliers (local and international) may be required from time to time

What you will need to succeed:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in a Senior Level purchasing role within a fast paced, manufacturing environment
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in leading or managing staff within a purchasing department
  • Highly experienced in MRP systems and all Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvement and change management
