They are seeking a highly skilled and detailed orientated Technical Manager to join the team. Reporting to the Head of Technical you will oversee all technical aspects of food production and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all technical aspects of factory production, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, legal standards, and customer requirements.
  • Lead and manage the technical team, including training, audits, and fostering a strong culture of food safety, quality, and integrity.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with NPD, Operations, Sales, and other technical functions to deliver continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through site visits, audits, and regular communication.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the site and technical department, promoting best practices and staff engagement.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Food Science or a related technical field
  • Proven technical management experience with solid understanding of QA processes
  • In depth working knowledge of HACCP, BRC standards and other food safety management systems
  • Experience dealing with major retailers
  • Strong grasp of food safety principles and regulatory compliance
  • Strong problem solving and adaptability in fast paced environments

Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!)

  • Background in High Care/High Risk food manufacturing
  • Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification
  • Familiarity with retailer specific standards
  • HACCP Level 4
