Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with our dynamic and ambitious food client with the appointment of a Technical Manager for their Donegal facility.

Your remit as the successful Technical Manager:
Your core responsibility is to develop, manage and operate procedures and ways of working that assure our Client is safely delivering a product that meets customer specifications, third-party accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
The role also has the responsibility to assure that procedures are in place to protect the Health & Safety of employees along with the responsibility to assure that Environmental regulations are complied with.
- Development and maintenance of systems, procedures, and ways of working to meet customer, industry and regulatory requirements and specifications.
- Delivering risk mitigation strategies for Technical Dept. to support the protection of customers and the brand, including rapid and decisive crisis management/mitigating actions.
- Ensuring safe, secure and healthy working conditions for all workers, and that H&S safety risks are managed proactively.
- Managing and maintaining integrated Quality Systems and related records including timely non-conformance processing and improvements.
- Collaborating with internal and external customers, suppliers and third parties to improve Quality performance.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with customers, external accreditation and regulatory bodies.
- Leading the promotion of a 'Quality Culture' , identifying areas of process variability and nonconformance and proposing improvements.
- Leading the Technical Team and developing its performance.
Your essential ingredients to be considered:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
- 5 years' experience in FMCG food quality management
- Qualified in Quality Management theory (TQM/6sigma/BRC/ISO9001).
- Ability to lead, performance manage, motivate, and develop employees.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and numeracy skills.
- Competent with IT systems and the MS Office suite, including MS Project.
- Excellent communication skills
And it would be even better if you had these:
- Experience in Heath, Safety, and Environmental Regulations (IOSH LVL3/NEBOSH Gen Cert /ISO 45001) is Desirable
- Auditing knowledge and Experience is Desirable
