Job description
Vickerstock are delighted to be once again working with our Food Manufacturing client who are passionate about their people and whose vision is to become the best and most respected in their industry on the appointment of Technical Officer (Maternity Cover) for their site based in Craigavon.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager you will provide knowledgeable, technical administrative support for the Technical Supply Chain function.

What your typical day as Technical Officer will look like:
- Validate & verify Raw Material Specifications considering food safety, quality & integrity - ensure they accordance with our Technical Guidance & Reference Materials
- Uploading & approving raw material specifications and other reference documents.
- Maintain supplier contact details.
- To become the expert of the customers COP, liaise with team to keep all guidance up to date.
- Complete SAP queries & transactions as & when required.
- Request Raw Materials Codes using system.
- Collate/interrogate data & routine reports from several sources (spreadsheets, SAP, Qliksense)
- Maintain supporting information for supplier approval & assurance, & associated logs
- Co-ordinate the intake sampling schedules.
- Provide first point of contact for non-conformance reporting, & communication with suppliers
- Provide technical support for meat intake teams.
- Co-ordinate Shelf-Life queries in liaison with suppliers & sites
- Perform risk assessments on raw materials as they are approved & complete all admin necessary.
- Support & cover other technical functions as required.
- General Administration & Customer requests e.g., JS Product Safety Approval
- To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes & procedures operating within their area & across the wider business e.g., reduction of waste, recycling etc.
- Undertake project work as allocated to drive improvement.
- Occasional travel to support internal sites / suppliers.
Your essential ingredients:
- 3rd level qualification and/or a minimum of 1 years' experience in similar FMCG food industry
- Knowledge of BRC standard, HACCP, and Food Legislation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Good level of experience in IT packages e.g., Excel, Word, Power Point, Databases
- Self-motivated, well organised, structured, assertive and able to use own initiative.
- Good attention to detail
- Team Worker
