Trading Specialist | Newry | Excellent salary + bonus

Vickerstock are proud to be working exclusively with an established FMCG business who supply major manufacturing, wholesale and retail companies across the globe with the appointment of an experienced and talented Trading Specialist for their Newry based facility.

With a team of strategically placed sales agents to source and supply the best quality products at the best price the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering incremental sales revenue, profit margin and cash contribution to the company through effective selling, customer management and relationship building.

Your new role as Trading Specialist

  • Working within a defined team to build a sustainable trading portfolio by seeking out select, key partners, building clear Trading Plans and delivering sustainable forward partnerships - with defined parameters, clear and acceptable commercial returns.
  • Achievement of agreed revenue and margin/mix targets, for both existing and new customers.
  • Building knowLedge on both the industry, the key competition, as well as their customer base to ensure we maintain a good strategic picture and an appreciation of the changing market place and the ensuing forward challenges.
  • Ongoing liaison with Trading Director to ensure awareness of all buying opportunities as well as trading sensitives

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven track record developing business within the FMCG Wholesale and Retail sector.
  • Entrepreneurial business growth mindset (all areas/products considered).
  • Ability to implement your own business model / plan (support given).
  • Sound Financial acumen
  • A confident and competent negotiator who closes out opportunities.
  • Commands presence, controls situations and deals with inconsistencies effectively.
  • Strong communicator at all levels who both thinks and plans ahead.
  • Excellent connectivity/network within FMCG/wholesale Industry - strong relationship building

Where we see this person coming from is either:

  • Someone with a similar type business on the go but need a source of support behind them to scale up
  • Experienced traders from wholesalers / cash & carry or similar looking for bigger opportunity with transferrable customer/supplier base
