Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a food manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Warehouse & Logistics Manager on a full-time permanent contract.

As the Warehouse & Logistics Manager you will have full responsibility for the warehousing and logistics function, where you will promote a culture of contninuous improvement while also creating a positive and colloborative workforce which is imperative for the next stage of growth for the business.

In your new role:

  • Management of logistics administration including, driver breaks Taco meters, Taco graphs, compliance to legislation and online portal (logistics UK)
  • Management of transport fleet including servicing, routine maintenance, PSV, MOT, break testing.
  • Planning of logistics and overseeing implementation of plan
  • Collaborate with third party transport providers to optimise supply chain operations and ensure retail and non-retail customer service standards are achieved.
  • Management of supply chain coordinators in line with customer service requirements.
  • Build relationships with customers hubs and supply chain depots to ensure best service.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of 5S systems
  • Management of Health and Safety across Warehousing and logistics operations
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to improve supply chain performance.
  • Prepare reports on Key Performance Metrics including Average Weight of Products for senior management review.


What you will need to succeed:

  • Four years' experience of warehouse and logistics management, ideally but not limited to the food industry
  • Commercially astute, excellent planner and experience of financial reporting
  • Positive "can do"attitude
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain management and transport management
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Accurate, strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement initiatives
