Vickerstock are currently recruiting for a Lead Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of a client based in the Dungannon area. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating existing processes and procedures across the organisation, with the aim of enhancing efficiency and overall performance. This role involves full ownership of change management activities, ensuring employees effectively adapt to new ways of working to achieve optimal results.

As a senior appointment, you will apply a range of change management and continuous improvement methodologies, while motivating, mentoring, and coaching teams to ensure improvements are fully embedded within the company culture.

Your new role as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer;

  • Conduct detailed evaluations of current processes, identify future state opportunities, and perform gap analyses across the business to highlight areas for improvement, automation/robotics, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Make informed and timely decisions appropriate to the role, using available data, seeking guidance when required, and applying initiative to resolve operational challenges.
    Identify and implement necessary changes to processes and procedures to achieve targeted improvements.
  • Define the objectives and scope of improvement initiatives, establishing clear and structured implementation plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the organisation using a variety of business improvement tools and techniques.
  • Lead the measurement and evaluation of improvements, developing KPIs and performance metrics for enhanced processes.
  • Effectively manage and deliver change by engaging and empowering employees to challenge existing practices and adopt better ways of working.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and lean practices, including clear communication plans, overcoming resistance to change, and maximising engagement and accountability.
  • Track and report on project progress across the business, including updates to senior management.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring on continuous improvement at all organisational levels, as well as designing and delivering training to enhance workforce capability.

What you will need to succeed as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer;

  • A relevant Manufacturing or Engineering degree. HND, BTEC Level 5, or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications will also be considered where significant practical experience can be demonstrated.
  • Qualifications in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).
