Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a leading global manufacturing business based in Lisburn to recruit an experienced Planner/Buyer to join their Materials team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating at the forefront of advanced engineering and energy solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring continuity of supply to support manufacturing operations, while managing inventory and supplier performance.
The Role
As Planner/Buyer, you will be responsible for planning, organising, scheduling and purchasing a portfolio of parts from a group of vendors, ensuring consistent supply while managing inventory levels in line with business targets.
Key Responsibilities


  • Procure direct and indirect materials to support manufacturing operations using SAP ERP

  • Plan and schedule inbound supply to align with production requirements and inventory targets

  • Process purchase orders accurately and on time, managing the full procurement cycle through to invoicing

  • Maintain replenishment, call-off and supplier-managed inventory processes

  • Manage non-conforming supplier stock in conjunction with quality teams

  • Identify and support cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives

  • Communicate and resolve supply issues that may impact manufacturing

  • Support accurate inventory records, safety stock levels and supplier forecasts

  • Manage component changes and introduction of new parts through the planning process

  • Monitor and report on key supplier performance metrics

  • Support additional materials and supplier management projects as required


What You Will Need


  • Proven experience in a supply chain planning or buying role

  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practice

  • Excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience using SAP ERP systems

  • Ability to work independently, prioritise under pressure and adapt to changing demands

  • A collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple teams
