Are you a Production Planner looking for your next move within food manufacturing or keen to step into a business where planning genuinely makes a difference?
Vickerstock are working in partnership with a scaling food manufacturing business based in Portadown to recruit a Production Planner.
This is a key role within the operations function, offering the opportunity to take ownership of production planning across multiple manufacturing lines in a fast-paced, short shelf-life environment.

Your day to day:
The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring customer demand is met efficiently, safely and in line with exacting quality standards.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Planner will be responsible for translating customer demand into robust, achievable production schedules while balancing capacity, materials and labour.
- Support the creation and maintenance of daily and weekly production plans.
- Assist in converting forecasts and sales orders into production schedules.
- Liaise with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to help ensure plans are achieved.
- Monitor raw material and packaging availability and flag any potential shortages.
- Update production plans to reflect changes in demand, downtime, or labour availability.
- Ensure production plans follow food safety and quality requirements.
- Track key KPIs such as OTIF, waste, and schedule adherence.
- Maintain accurate planning information within ERP/MRP systems.
- Assist with scheduling NPD and sample runs.
- Communicate updated plans to relevant teams.
Your essential ingredients:
- Experience in a production planning or scheduling role within food manufacturing
- Good understanding of production processes and capacity planning.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively across teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, short shelf-life manufacturing environment
