Vickerstock are delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors to recruit for the position of Site Engineer. With a number of specialist divisions including Construction, Civil Engineering and Fit Out, this organisation has the capability and expertise to deliver highly complex projects across the full built environment spectrum. With offices across the UK, this local success story is now one of the UK's largest contractors and continues to go from strength to strength. This particular role is based in Swindon, working on a major design and build project valued at £50 million.

Your new role as Site Engineer

As Site Engineer, you will become a valued member of the construction site team. In this role, it is your responsibility to supervise and monitor the direct site team and monitor, coordinate, and manage sub-contractors. You must ensure all site personnel are correctly inducted and they have approved risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) in place. You are responsible for ensuring all site activity runs efficiently and effectively, ensuring accurate setting-out and dimensional control, ensure drawings, specifications and other documents are kept up to date, and ensure that the project programme is available is available and communicated to the supply chain prior to works commencing. You will be in charge of keeping the project PM, CM and QS appraised of variations to the works and maintain records for contractual correspondence.

What you will need to succeed as Site Engineer (if you have these that is great, but do not worry if you don't- they're not essential)

  • Five or more years of experience working in a similar role
  • Experience in setting out large scale projects
  • Experience working on concrete structures such as slipform and jumpform
  • Experience in groundworks and steel framed buildings
  • SMSTS qualified
  • Full UK driving license
  • First Aid training
