Maintenance Engineer

Enniskillen

£34 - £41k - Depends on chosen shift pattern

Vickerstock are working in conjunction with one of Northern Irelands leading employers based in Enniskillen.

These are full-time permanent roles within their Maintenance department, your primary focus will be to ensure the maximum uptime on machinery across the chosen shift pattern.


Maintenance Engineer - Duties;

  • Electrical / Mechanical drawings and specifications are utilised to diagnose faults
  • Electrical / Mechanical faults are repaired on plant equipment
  • Maintenance and repair of material handling equipment, extruders, mixers, packers, weighers etc
  • Maintenance and repair of control centres, control panels and interfaces
  • Maintenance and repair of instrumentation required for the metering of products, liquids etc used in the production process
  • Maintenance and repair of electric motors and their start, speed control and soft start systems
  • Use of PLC's to establish faults - replacement of PCB's in logic controllers as required
  • Use of computing techniques and in-built maintenance programmes for fault diagnosis and calibration
  • Maintenance and repair of pneumatic and hydraulic controlled equipment
  • Maintenance and repair of drives and motors used in the production process
  • Safe use of mills and lathes
  • Maintenance and repair of domestic (i.e. light, heat, power) elements within the mill and office accommodation
  • Weekly taking of readings for usage of electricity
  • Preventative maintenance is carried out in line with PM programme
  • Remedial work is carried out throughout the mill and offices - removal of redundant cables and equipment, modernisation of lighting etc.
  • Electrical cabinets are maintained in a clean and safe condition
  • Effective liaison with production on breakdown repair, maintenance and priority of breakdown
  • Effective liaison with Maintenance Fitters when determining the reasons for plant failure and establishing efficient methods of repair
  • Accurate completion of records / documentation as required
  • Adherence to all health, safety and environmental procedures
  • All company policy is complied with and supported
  • Personal training and development needs are identified with supervisor
  • All relevant training is attended
  • Induction, company training and appraisal is supported as required
  • Any other duties are carried out as appropriate

  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Able to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Capable of solving problems
  • Self motivated
  • Capable of working on own initiative
  • Capable of using standard diagnostic tools
